Hueytown’s “Whoville Christmas” Parade Filled with the Joy of the Holiday Season

Young and old alike always enjoy a parade, especially a Christmas parade. The city of Hueytown turned out for the 36th Annual Hueytown Christmas Parade held on December 9.

This year’s theme was a “Whoville Christmas.”

The Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the event which was the largest parade ever seen in Hueytown.

The sponsors were Venue 3131, Fitness 1440, McDonald’s Black Family Restaurants, Morrow Railroad Builders, Aux Home Services, Michael E. Cashaw, Jr., City Auto Sales and the City of Hueytown.

Festive floats, the Hueytown High School Marching Band and characters in colorful costumes paraded through the streets before cheering crowds.

The joy of the season was realized as the spectators delighted in the Whoville Wonderland! Whoeytown Believes.

 

Beauty Queens

Melissa Bogardus and Ashley Seligson were the official greeters at Mona and Jimmie Stephens’ annual Christmas party.

The festive affair was held on December 16.

Their charming smiles put everybody in the Christmas spirit.

 

Children’s Theatre

The Birmingham Children’s Theatre has celebrated their 75th anniversary. The occasion was marked at an annual fundraising gala.

The evening’s theme was “An Enchanted Evening at The Fennec.”

Proceeds benefit the Birmingham Children’s Theatre’s onstage productions.

Seen in the crowd were Mike Boody, Jay Tumminello, Stacy and Lee Watts, Jennifer and Scott Taylor, Jackie and Rami Semaan, Stephanie and John Dean, JoAnn and Gary Weatherly, Laura and Mike Mikos, Ann Haan, Amanda Marcum, Jessica Clark, Katherine BeShear, Jean Noojin, Paul P. Bolus, Jean Pierce and Buffy Rigby.
