People from all over drive to Bessemer to enjoy delicious Southern cooking served at the Back Porch Restaurant. The local eatery is located at 1924 First Avenue, North.

The Back Porch is excited about the new year and welcoming even more customers.

The restaurant was opened in October of 2019 by local businessman Chef Ron Cook. His love of Southern cooking along with his unique style of cooking opened the door to the establishment of The Back Porch. Also, opening the restaurant has been an opportunity to utilize his signature spices.

Opened Sunday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the restaurant serves daily five entrees including one Italian dish, nine vegetables and five desserts including strawberry cake. Customer favorites include neck bones, oxtails, fried chicken, candied yams, dressing, black-eyed peas, pinto beans, collard greens, cabbage and of course, cornbread.

Chef Cook plans on expanding his steam table selections. He stated, “I intend to add several more entrees and locally grown fresh vegetables to the menu.”

Most importantly, the customer service at the restaurant is top notch.
