The ambassadors are in for Sweet Grown Alabama’s 2024 season, and one in particular just so happens to be K. Marie (Alabama State grad), one whose talents revolve around, yet aren’t limited to the kitchen. One who prepares sought after pound cakes & Cornish hen recipes. With inspiration and lessons from her Mom, K. Marie is keeping the oven hot as she’ll be visiting notable Alabama farms & orchards this year.

Food blogger, cookbook author & party planner, this year K. Marie was chosen as an Ambassador for Sweet Grown Alabama.

S.G.A. is a non-profit organization that enhances marketing opportunities for farmers by connecting consumers and retailers to Alabama-Grown foods and other agricultural products.

After being visible for years and winning several contests, Katrina Adams (K. Marie) has been chosen to visit several farms throughout the state. She told us, “There’s nothing like fresh grown foods, simply. To me they enhance the food products I make and eat, so to be given the opportunity to visit farmers throughout our areas is something I’m looking forward to and excited about.”

We learned also that K. Marie is no stranger to the farm, so being a part of this partnership is like a homecoming for her also. Throughout this year, she’ll help make us aware of the varied products and items grown right in our backyards which will also make our favorite dishes evermore tasteful through naturally grown items we weren’t even aware of right at home (including strawberries, apples & even plants).

As a 2024 Sweet Grown AL. Food Ambassador, K. Marie’s items can also be found in several Piggly Wiggly locations throughout the state (including Homewood, Hoover, & Clairmont locations) under ‘In the Kitchen with K. Marie’ in the freezer sections.

With a magnificent start to the new year, we asked K. Marie what’d she like to tell others that’d be interested in chasing their own personal dreams, and she said simply, “Put God first and never give up. Motivate yourself and try hard within the passions of your heart and you won’t be disappointed at all.”

We look forward to being tastebud pleased with these products via K. Marie & Sweet Grown Alabama this year and in the future.
