It is already beginning to look a lot like Christmas. After all, it is December 1. So get ready to jingle all the way.

In the city of Hueytown, the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce and the city of Hueytown have decided to “Countdown to Christmas” this year with a festive sign. This is Hueytown’s way of making the season even more special.

Participating in this Christmas season event at Hueytown City Park will be Hueytown schools, local businesses, civic groups and churches.

The first ever “2023 Countdown to Christmas” sign was provided by L & L American, Inc. of Hueytown. The sign, 5’ x 10’ will showcase all the fun and exciting events scheduled in the city during the Christmas season.

Leigh Ana Amerson, coordinator of “Countdown to Christmas” said, “On behalf of L & L American, Inc., I would like to wish the people of Hueytown a Merry Christmas.”

The Countdown Kick-Off began on Monday, November 27 at 4 p.m. at Hueytown City Park with the countdown to the Christmas Tree Lighting, today, Friday, December 1. Hueytown High School Principal Ryan Howard and Hueytown High School Band Director Dr. Christopher Walker initiated the countdown.

The next countdown event will be the 36nd Annual Christmas Parade scheduled for December 9. This is followed by the main event, the “Countdown to Christmas.”

This final countdown will be presented by the First Methodist Church of Hueytown.
