In the spirit of giving and community support, the Hoover Fire Department, in collaboration with Rocky Ridge and North Shelby Fire Districts, as well as the Hoover Recreation Center in Alabama, is gearing up for Operation Toy Soldier. This annual initiative aims to assist the Alabama National Guard in their noble quest to bring joy to children during the holiday season through a festive toy drive.
Starting this Friday, November 10, residents of Hoover and surrounding areas are encouraged to participate by dropping off new, unwrapped toys at any of the 11 Hoover Fire Stations. The initiative brings together the local fire departments, the community, and the Hoover Recreation Center in a collective effort to make a positive impact on the lives of children in need.
The collection period for Operation Toy Soldier spans from November 10 to Tuesday, December 19. This gives community members ample time to contribute to the cause and share the joy of the holiday season with those who may be facing economic challenges. The final day for donations is December 19, so be sure to mark your calendars and contribute to this heartwarming initiative before the deadline.
For those who may prefer to make a monetary contribution, Operation Toy Soldier provides an avenue for support. Simply make a check payable to the “Alabama Nat. Guard Foundation.” In return, a receipt will be issued by the National Guard through the mail, acknowledging your generous contribution.
