BIRMINGHAM (Nov.22, 2023) — Children’s of Alabama helped patients and their families get into the Thanksgiving spirit. Children’s hosted its annual Pre-Thanksgiving Day Parade on Tuesday.

Balloons, floats and some four-legged friends marched through inpatient units. Patients watched the parade from their doorway and on closed-circuit television. The parade broadcast featured special guests, including WVTM 13’s chief meteorologist, Jason Simpson. It also featured virtual greetings and performances from the Alabama Ballet, the Birmingham Squadron, the Birmingham Children’s Theatre, the Birmingham Opera, The Birmingham Zoo and the University of Alabama hockey team.

Children’s is thankful to everyone who made the parade possible for our patients and their families, including staff, community partners, and Walmart and Sam’s Club locations throughout Alabama.
