Robert “Rob” Edward Ryan, 70, of Bessemer, AL passed away January 3, 2024. Rob retired from Alabama Power Company after 40 years of service. He also retired from the Eastern Valley Fire District as Fire Chief after 20 years. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed working and serving his community. Rob is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janet Ryan; his children, Amanda (Dale) Johnson, Katie (Brooks) Fountain-Ryan, and Robert Andrew (Jennifer) Ryan; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Will, Madie, Marlie, and Harper. A graveside service for Rob will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Bro. Alan Head officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in McCalla, AL.
