6th Annual CityFest Music Festival Set to Rock June 8

     It will be a day filled with musical excitement in the city of Hueytown.  

     The 6th Annual CityFest Music Festival, tomorrow, June 8 in Hueytown, promises to be a grand, memorable event. 

     The Festival will be held at City Park, 104 Forest Road starting at 10 a.m. and closing at 10 p.m.  Remember to bring your lawn chair and possibly a blanket. 

     “Music is just the beginning of what Hueytown’s CityFest has to offer,” said Debbie Kiker, president of the Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce. 

     The free event is being planned by The Hueytown Arts Council. 

     Scheduled headliners are Sister Hazel from Florida and Dalton Dover from Georgia.  Also on the lineup are Soul Tide, Logan the Entertainer, Motel Ice Machine, Owen Griffice, 3 Generations, TeriDona School of Dance and Tommy Crowder Band. 

     Hueytown Mayor Steve Ware stated, “We are so appreciative to our sponsors whose support makes our Festival possible and free to our residents and visitors.”  Mayor Ware will open the day and evening events with greetings on behalf of the city of Hueytown. 

     The sponsors are McDonald’s owned by Black Family Restaurants, Aux Home Services, American Mini Storage, City Auto Sales-Hueytown, Union State Bank and the Alabama Power Foundation. 

     This family-friendly event will also feature a Kid Zone with a barnyard petting zoo and local celebrity Hank the Camel.  There will be several inflatable bounce houses and face painting for the little ones.  There will also be food trucks on site. 

     Jake Ware, president of the Hueytown Arts Council said, “This year’s Festival promises to be the biggest and most exciting one yet.” 

     Parking for the event will be at Hueytown Primary School, Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and Hueytown Intermediate School.
